A wedding at the church in Quenza. The couple go first to the mairie for the civil ceremony and then to the church for the religious ceremony and mass.

Quenza has no resident priest so celebrants have to come from Sartene, many miles to the southwest. Unaccompanied singing by small groups in the Corsican language has become very popular. The three men in the photo perform messe cantate (sung mass) at weddings and funerals throughout the island. They and similar groups are much in demand.
