BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK: In 1997, I joined the National Research Institute of PNG as a Project Research Officer attached to the APFT Project. APFT is an acronym in French which means ìThe Future of the People of the Tropical Rainforestî. I carried out intensive research into the Kilimeri Census Division of the Sandaun Province-Papua New Guinea. This area is currently undergoing rapid rural changes as a result of the activities of a logging company. The research project involved significant travelling and living and working amongst the Kilimeri. The compilation of the research findings and presentations of the same to the funding agency has provided valuable experience necessary for a major work such as a Ph.D. thesis.
