1965/66 first ethnomedical fieldstudy in New Guinea, since then fieldwork, including film documentaries, in ethnomedecine, anthropology, medecine and human ethology, mainly in Papua New Guinea and Irian Jaya.

1974-75 fielddirector of the German Research Foundation Priority Programme "Man, Culture and Environment in the Central Highlands of Irian Jaya, West New Guinea".
